ADVANCED BELLYDANCE with Mariyah
Learn complex combinations and choreographies in a variety of styles including cabaret-style Oriental dance, Tribal, folkloric and fusion. Concentrate on components for a 5 part solo performance, including entrance, intricate veil work, audience participation, taksim and drum solo. Emphasis will be placed on expanding emotional expression, different methods for improvisation and musical interpretation.
In this 5 week session we will be learning a veil choreography.
5 week session begins October 18th 7:30-8:30pm
$75 in advance/$80 at the door

BASIC BELLYDANCE with Mariyah
No dance experience necessary.
This course includes a brief overview of the history and culture of belly dance and covers the basic posture and foundation movements by building on steps learned from week to week. This course is easy to follow, easy to retain, and fun! It will also provide you with a low impact workout that improves flexibility and coordination. No previous knowledge of bellydance is required although experienced dancers who want to polish and refine their technique are also welcome.

Zikrayat presents: A Late Summer Night’s Belly Dance Dream Show

Zikrayat captures the Cairo Nightclub atmosphere of the 1950′s–the Golden Age of Egyptian Cinema-with this end-of-summer special performance featuring Zikrayat’s beautiful dancers, Mariyah, Sherine, Damesehe and Layla Isis and featuring special guest Lale Sayoko!
The show will highlight astounding drum solos by master darbukka (tabla) player Faisal Zedan, and include lots of great performances to dance numbers that will take you from the Silver Screen to the Nightclub Stage.
The night will also include great music for you to get up and dance to, so get ready to RAQ!
